As of 28 Sep 2026 the State Election Commission has not announced the polling programme — its letter of 16.09.2026 says the announcement is due shortly. Under the High Court's order and the programme placed before it, municipal polls come first and Panchayati Raj polls next (DIPR, 16.08.2026). Dates will be added here once announced. Sarpanch/Panch votes are counted at the gram panchayat headquarters right after polling closes (SEC order 1323, 03.02.2026).

Who can be a candidate in the panchayat polls?
Anyone aged 21 or more who is on that panchayat's voter list and not covered by a Section 19 disqualification. Since 2026 the more-than-two-children disqualification is gone; there is no education requirement, but a toilet at home is mandatory.
Will the sarpanch vote be by EVM or ballot box?
