- Panchayat polls 2026: SEC issues 7 preparation orders; the election schedule is yet to be announcedAs of the evening of 30 September, the State Election Commission's website has not published the programme for the 2026 Panchayati Raj elections. Between 24 and 29 September the Commission issued 7 orders on polling stations, EVMs and agents.
- Filing a sarpanch nomination: only 5 people including the candidate, 1 vehicle within 100 metres — SEC orderUnder the State Election Commission's order of 16 September 2026, at most 5 people including the candidate may be in the returning officer's office at nomination, no rally is allowed, and within 100 metres a sarpanch candidate may bring 1 vehicle, a panchayat samiti member 2 and a zila parishad member 3.
